BMS stands for Basic Math Skills. At the beginning of the year the whole community takes a basic math skills test. This test lets Ms. Eichorn and Mr. Laroche know what our struggles are in math and what we are good at. The skills we get wrong on the test we have to work on for an hour each week. If we think we have practiced enough and we understand it, we can test out. If we test out and get all four questions right we don't have to practice that skill anymore and move on to the next one. Both grades have a planning sheet located on Haiku to direct their learning. Here is a picture of the planning sheet.
This past week, three Renaissance students and two Renaissance teachers participated in a webinar. This webinar was about the Hard'ack and Aldis Hill trial project that the Renaissance community has been apart of. It was extremely intimidating from a students point of view, knowing that there were going to be so many teachers in the audience (200+). After the webinar, got started all of the participants worked together to explain Stewardship Projects that are happening at our school. We mainly talked about our experience with the trial project.
