Heat Transfer

Today in 21st century class we learned how particles move in hot and cold substances. In hot water, particles move faster, and in cold water, particles move slower. The experiment we did was with a ball and ring. One stick had a ball on it that could fit right through the ring. Once you dip the ball in the hot water, the particles move faster so it expanded and it didn't go through the ring. Once we put it in the cold water,, the particles in the ball moved slower, so it went right through. This experiment showed how particles move in hot and cold substances.  Here is a video of the experiment.  We also listened to a radio clip that related to our 21st Century class.
