Parent Night

Thank you to all the families that joined us Thursday evening.  If you missed us, feel free to call or email any Renaissance teacher.  Looking forward to our first Green Up Day tomorrow.

Problem Solving

Given a small amount of materials students needed to work together to create the tallest self standing structure.  Here is a picture of the winning group.

The "Lazy" Painter

Thank you Mrs. Gates!

Fortune Teller Fish Lab

Students are learning how to write up a lab report.  Students wrote hypothese on why the fish moved in their hand.  After completing a procedure, students did their own experiment.  Using their data, students  wrote a conclusion.  This is their first of many labs this year.  We hope to see them progress in their knowledge of independent, dependent, and control variables over the next few weeks.

Teambuilding

Here are some pictures of students working to create a pyramid without touching any of the cups.  We really enjoyed watching the problem solving students did to accomplish each challenge.

Homemade Pizza!

Renaissance students harvested our pizza garden and enjoyed the fruits of our labor. Many different toppings were available to pair with our pizza sauce previously made by some of our 8th grade students. Each group enjoyed a tasty treat. Click to view more pictures!

Ecybermission

We will have four teams representing our community in this science and engineering competition.  Two teams of 7th graders and two teams of 8th graders.  For more information visit ecybermission.com
